200 Pengajar Interim Diketuka Engka Ketegal Puntan Ba Intebiu Psikometrik

LUNDU: Urung 200 iku pengajar sementara lepas graduet ke nangi deka diketuka kunterik kena bulan Mac tu engka ketegal ari puntan intebiu psikometrik.
Menteri Pelajar Malaysia, Dato Mahdzir Khalid madah, penanggul nya engka laban pengajar sementara tu puntan ba intebiu psikometrik.
“Sekeda engka laban puntan ba intebiu psikometrik. Tang, tuju prosedur tu ngambika kitai ngembuan pengajar ke bekualiti.
“Enti kelia, asal kitai nya graduet bidang pelajar, tau nyadi pengajar tang diatu, enda agi baka nya laban agi bisi proses bukai ke patut dititih,” ku Mahdzir.
Iya madah munyi nya ba aum media pengudah bejadika Pengajar Regas 1 Malaysia: Pengajar Penempa Menua Renggat Nengeri Sarawak 2017 enggau Pengajar Biak 1 Malaysia ba Dewan SMK Lundu ditu, kemari.
Atur pengawa nya seiti ari program inisiatif dikena ngangkatka kualiti bala pengajar ba renggat sekula, pelilih menua enggau nengeri.
Ba pekara pasal otonomi pelajar di Sarawak iya nya nisbah 90:10 ke alai Perintah Nengeri bisi minta pengajar peranak Sarawak empu ngajar ditu laban sida lebih meretika adat di menua tu.
Ku timbal Mahadzir, Malaysia bisi sebuah komiti dikumbai Komiti Pelajar bechairmanka orang Sarawak empu deka beratika pekara tu.
“Diatu kitai enti bisi chalun ke engkeman nitihka atur Opis Menteri Pelajar (KPM), kami tetap ngambi orang nya, sida deka dianjung nyereta kus ba Palan Pematih Pengajar Malaysia (IPGM). Tang penanggul iya diatu, genap pengajar ke deka dianjung nyereta kus nya sigi ditapis KPM, kitai beratika subjek ke ulih diajar sereta nitihka atur KPM.
“Enti chalun nya endang patut lalu nadai setipikit ngajar, chalunnya deka dianjung ngagai IPGM di Sarawak ngambi nitihka atur KPM.
“Penanggul diatu, kitai napi suntuk pengajar, nadai orang minta lebih agi ba subjek Agama, Sains (Biologi, Kimia enggau Fizik). Kitai udah ngempuruka semua degree, berati berapa iku sida ke ulih dibai ngagai IPGM,” ku iya seraya meransang sida ti keran ngajar tau betanya ngagai Opis Pelajar Sarawak (JPS) empu.
Ba aum media nya mega, Mahadzir bisi madahka urung 369 buah sekula di menua pesisir di Sarawak agi ngena injin api.
“Pekara tu benung diperunding lalu JPS bekerejasama enggau Sarawak Energy Berhad.
“Ba pekara tu kitai beratika jalai grid. Enti pejalai grid nya besemak enggau sekula tauka enda jauh ari sekula, ngaga grid lalu nyambung ke sekula deka dikemeratka dulu,” ku iya.
Ba kategori sekula ke agi ngena injin api ku iya, bisi tiga kategori, iya nya sekula khas, sekula ke numbas penyeranta enggau sekula ke pemadu seranta meseti digaga jampat.
“Ke pemadu dikemerat ba taun 2017 urung 183 sekula ke balat rusak patut dikemeratka dulu.
“Kelimpah ari nya, bisi 69 buah sekula baru benung digaga nengah Langgur Pemansang Malaysia Lumpar Ke-10 (RMK10) datai ngagai RMK ke-11,” ku iya seraya muji Sarawak nyadi chunto ke ngembuan penyerakup di antara pupu bansa enda ngira pengarap.
Sama bisi datai Menteri Pengelantang Pendiau, Orang Indu enggau Pemansang Komuniti Datuk Fatimah Abdullah, Direktor Besai Opis Pelajar Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof, Kepala Sekretari MOE Dato Sri Alias Ahmad enggau pengari chalun PRK Tanjong Datu, Siti Rafidah Adenan.

Temporary Teachers Get Second Chance at Interviews

KUCHING: Temporary teachers can continue serving at schools while waiting for second interviews.
Education minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid announced this today (Tuesday) after a walkabout at State Sports School SMK Tabuan Jaya.
“The Ministry of Education has no problem giving second chance to interim teachers to go for a second interview. This measure is in line with Sarawak state government’s view that they deserve a second chance,” he responded to The Borneo Post’s news dated today, headlined ‘End of the road’.
He also pointed out that the temporary teachers can continue serving in schools while waiting for the interviews.
“Last year, more than 900 candidates went through the interview and out of the total, 202 candidates failed the interview,” he elaborated.
Nevertheless, he said the unsuccessful candidates continued to serve as temporary teachers in schools where they are required.
However, Mahdzir stressed that the decision (for interview) lies in the hands of the Education Service Commission (SPP).
“These temporary teachers may have diplomas and degrees in education but a successful interview will allow them to proceed to get training at Institute of Teacher Education to qualify as teachers,” he said.
The second interview, he added, should be called for around June this year.
Meanwhile, Mahdzir also informed that the chief minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg has in principle agreed to take teachers from Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah to address the crucial needs for teachers in specific subject like Islamic Studies.
“The priority is given to local teachers of course but if there isn’t a suitable applicant to fill the post, then we can consider making arrangement for teachers from Peninsular Malaysia or Sabah to come,” he said.

PKR Sarawak Hails Second Chance for Interim Teachers

KUCHING: PKR welcomes the decision of the Ministry of Education to retain the 210 temporary teachers whose service will be terminated until they have attended the scheduled second interview in June to determine their eligibility to be confirmed as teachers.
Speaking to The Borneo Post yesterday, state PKR vice chairman See Chee How expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing Datuk Fatimah Abdullah for their timely intervention.
However, See, who is Batu Lintang assemblyman, said the chief minister and his colleagues in the state cabinet must continue to monitor the progress of this matter and to appoint and send a team of senior officers from the state to attend and observe the second interview of these 210 interim teachers, to ensure that they are fairly treated as their contemporaries who were interviewed last month.
He added that the chief minister must also instruct the Education Service Commission (SPP) to submit a report on their issuance of the ‘release letter’ last Friday (Feb 10) which had caused much anxiety to the affected teachers and their schools.
“The abrupt termination of the services of these 210 interim teachers was drastic. Our courts have consistently ruled that employment is part of livelihood and the termination of one’s employment without just cause and excuse is deprivation of life, a grave violation of the constitutional rights of all Malaysians.
“The due process of law must be observed. For the other batch of interim teachers who were recruited with the present batch, their interviews were conducted in August last year and January this year. Those who did not attend or pass their first interview were retained until they were tested in the second interview. It is reasonable and legitimate expectation of this batch of 210 interviewees to be treated equally.
“We are grateful that this unpleasant episode has now been resolved. However, our state administration must be watchful to ensure that these 210 interim teachers will not be unfairly treated in the upcoming second interview, that it should not be an exercise to fail these interim teachers.”
See said the Ministry of Education must also reflect on themselves that it must be consistent in implementing its policy, including the recruitment of new teachers for Sabah and Sarawak.
“The ministry must have clear and transparent policy guidelines to absorb more applicants from Sabah and Sarawak into teacher training colleges, whether and how are they applicable to the intake of trained teachers of the Bachelor of Education (BEd) graduates from accredited private institutions of higher learning (IPTS) and public institutions of higher learning (IPTA).”
He said it cannot be denied that the IPTS and IPTA can and have assisted the ministry in providing applicants to be trained teachers for Sarawak and Sabah and fill the vacancies in our schools.
“However, the ministry must also make clear the legitimacy of the Bachelor of Education that is provided by the IPTS and IPTA approved by them, the scope of their study requirements in order that the students and the public are not confused as to their eligibility to be enrolled for teachers training colleges or to be absorbed as teachers.”
Meanwhile, a temporary teacher, who is among the 210 interim teachers, thanked Abang Johari for assisting them.
“The chief minister has done good for the sake of Sarawakian graduates. He gave us hope when things seemed dark (for us),” the interim teacher, who requested anonymity, told The Borneo Post yesterday.
However, she felt that the interim teachers needed to be absorbed as teachers without going through an interview, adding that the best method to assess them would be through an assessment conducted by the school principals where they were currently attached to.
“I still feel that principals’ recommendation and assessment is the best way to determine whether to absorb these teachers compared to going through an interview because the interviews conducted before this were not consistent.
“Through the assessment done by principals, those who did not perform well in school can be terminated but for those who did well, the school principal can recommend him/her to stay on as teachers. Thirty minutes in the interview room is not reliable compared to a year of experience.”
The interim teacher hoped that state Education Department director Rakayah Madon would consider her proposal, which she believed would be supported by the other interim teachers who wanted to continue to serve as teachers.
She took the opportunity to thank See and many other politicians for looking into their plight.
“We want to especially thank The Borneo Post/thesundaypost. If not because of your extensive reports, I believe our plight would remain unknown and there will be no action taken by those in authority to help us.”

JANGAN Politik Isu Bawa Masuk Guru Luar

KUCHING: Isu membawa masuk guru dari luar Sarawak untuk mengajar subjek kritikal termasuk Pendidikan Islam tidak harus dipolitikkan.
Presiden Kesatuan Guru Bumiputera Sarawak (KGBS) Ahmad Malie berkata tindakan Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN) Sarawak memohon lebih ramai guru dari Semenanjung Malaysia ditempatkan di Sarawak ketika ini untuk mengajar mata pelajaran itu sebenarnya demi kepentingan pendidikan di negeri ini.
Menurutnya isu menempatkan guru dari luar Sarawak mengajar di negeri ini telah hangat diperdebatkan oleh pelbagai pihak menerusi media sosial dan portal berita menyebabkan keresahan dalam kalangan guru serta ahli KGBS.
“Semua pihak harus sedar, untuk mencapai nisbah 90:10 guru tempatan dengan guru Semenanjung Malaysia tidak dapat menjadi kenyataan dalam masa sehari. Ia mengambil masa,” katanya.
Justeru ujarnya, isu berkenaan tidak boleh dipolitikkan lebih-kebih oleh pihak yang mempunyai kepentingan.
“Apabila isu ini dipolitikkan, ia akan menyukarkan lagi kementerian membuat keputusan kerana wujudnya campur tangan luar.
“Akhirnya, ia akan memberi kesan tidak baik kepada pelajar di negeri ini,” ujarnya.
Ahmad yang juga pengerusi Kongres Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Di Dalam Perkhidmatan Awam (CUEPACS) Sarawak percaya JPN Sarawak mempunyai strategi sendiri untuk mencapai nisbah 90:10 itu dan membuat keputusan terbaik berhubung permintaan menempatkan guru dari luar Sarawak mengajar di negeri ini.
Pada masa sama, beliau menasihati rakyat negeri ini agar bertenang dan tidak mengambil tindakan yang hanya akan merugikan pelajar.
Dilaporkan dalam surat dikeluarkan JPN Sarawak bertarikh 3 Februari 2017, jabatan itu memohon 401 guru dari luar Sarawak (Semenanjung Malaysia dan Sabah) ditempatkan di negeri ini untuk mengajar Pendidikan Islam di sekolah-sekolah rendah dan 32 lagi untuk ditempatkan di sekolah menengah.
Subjek kritikal lain yang memerlukan tenaga pengajar dari luar Sarawak ialah Bahasa Melayu (36 guru), Sejarah dan Geografi (107 guru) dan Matematik (64 guru), kesemuanya untuk ditempatkan di sekolah menengah di seluruh Sarawak.
Oleh itu katanya, semua pihak perlu memberi kepercayaan kepada JPN Sarawak membuat keputusan terbaik tanpa campur tangan serta tekanan dari luar.
Menurutnya berdasarkan komen-komen yang dimuat naik dalam media sosial, ia agak membimbangkan kerana ada antaranya menyimpang daripada maksud sebenar.
“Ada juga komen-komen yang tidak sensitif yang boleh mengganggu gugat keamanan dan keharmonian negeri dan negara,” ujarnya.
